Dalyan (a very brief synopsis!!)

Dalyan itself is about 7-10 minutes away by bike. It is situated on a wide river close to a huge lake (Koycegiz) and to the famous Turtle Beach. There is enough to do there and around for a week without ever venturing on to the beach. There are boat trips and tours to mountains, waterfalls, rock tombs, Roman towns and gorges, hot springs and mud baths. One day you can experience a traditional Turkish bath (Hammam) and the next swim in an icy cold waterfall. However, if all you want to do is relax and watch the world go by, you can do that in one of the many riverside restaurants and bars or on the terrace of Mulberry House!

If you enjoy bird watching then you will see many wild birds such as storks, kingfishers and egrets. Flamingos have also been seen in the marshes behind the lake! There are vast quantities of different insects including huge butterflies and dragonflies. There are also multitudes of wild flowers (best in the spring).

Whatever you choose to do it is unlikely to be your last trip to Dalyan!
